Dentures

Denture technology has been around for a long time – since about 700BC! Today they are removable, prosthetic plates with artificial teeth. Full dentures replace all teeth; partial plates are designed to fit around remaining natural teeth, substituting only the missing ones.

A number of factors can cause teeth to be lost – gum disease, trauma, poor oral hygiene, nutritional deficiencies, disease, medications, drug use, even heredity. Lost teeth have a significant negative impact on quality of life. They hamper your ability to eat the foods you like and need for good health. They cause embarrassment and loss of self-confidence.

We are in the business of saving teeth. We work with patients to prevent tooth loss and restore teeth for as long as possible. But when that is no longer an option, dentures can improve the quality of life. They allow you to eat the right foods, improving overall health with proper chewing and digestion, and restore a natural-looking smile. We have nearly 25 years of experience in creating and fitting dentures.

Our dentures are made of acrylic, without a metal core. They are lighter for a more comfortable, tight fit. The gums look very natural, and a variety of shades are available for the teeth. The materials are odor resistant. Home care is easy.

We also provide implant-supported dentures, for patients who are a good candidate for them. By placing one or more dental implants, titanium screws inserted into the jaw bone, your dentures hold tight without slippage. You simply snap them into place until you are ready to remove them for cleaning.

Trust Drs. Harty and Wilson with your denture needs. Enjoy food and enjoy your smile again!
