What's better than getting a new crown in just 2 visits? Getting a new crown in just 1 visit!

A dental crown is a permanent solution that completely caps a cracked, broken, decayed, or otherwise damaged tooth. Traditionally, several visits to the chair were required to complete the process, while the crown was fabricated at an off-site lab. But today, Dr. Douglas Harty and Dr. Sherri Wilson give you another option – CEREC crowns.

CEREC, short for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, or CEramic REConstruction, allows your crown procedure to be completed in a single appointment, in about an hour and a half. You may have multiple teeth treated at once with this method, to save you even more time. With CEREC, there are no messy impressions, and no need for temporary crowns.

Using this revolutionary technology, we take a digital scan of your damaged tooth after we prepare it by trimming down the top and side surfaces. Robust 3D software uses the scanned images to design your crown. It also allows us to customize the result, so that the color, fit, and bite are precisely perfect. We transmit the finished design to a special milling device, which creates your custom ceramic crown right at our office.

Then we bond your beautiful, new crown securely into place. Your smile and your bite are back to normal, and the tooth is protected from further damage.

The pressed porcelain crown has no metal core to show, so it is completely natural looking. It is strong and durable, bringing back the function of the tooth and lasting quite a long time. The ceramic materials used for a CEREC crown match the composition of your natural teeth. The crown is chemically bonded, allowing us to save as much healthy tooth structure as possible while giving you a stable restoration.

Our patients love the convenience of CEREC. And, they love the results.
